DragonBall (not DBZ) Live Action Movie Pictures

Kinda old news by now, but thats not stopping me from posting.  From the looks of these pictures one would think that they are going for a SpyKids/SkyHigh look with it, however with the director of the film being James Wong, best known for directing Final Destination 1 & 3 as well as “The One”, I am really torn.  Click the images for larger versions.

Baseless Opinion: The Unsellable Digg

Today I am introducing a new article series I will be writing called “Baseless Opinion” where I will talk about things that I honestly have no real business talking about but will still talk about anyway, after all that is how the internet works.

For this article I will be talking about everyone’s favorite social news mash-up Digg.com. Recently there were rumors of Digg potentially being acquired by everyone’s favorite internet search monster, Google.com. Kevin Rose, founder and chief architect of Digg, outright denied the rumors as being anywhere close to truth, but that didn’t stop the internet from being the internet and going on and on about the acquisition regardless.  Continue reading via the link below.

American McGee’s Grimm Launches Today

The new game from the creator of American McGee’s Alice launches today on GameTap. American McGee’s Grimm promises to be every bit as neo-gothic and creepy as it’s predecessor.

The game’s main character, Grimm is a Dwarf who thinks that the lessons in the old fairy tales were lost. Stories got ruined by happy talking animals, cartoon movies and, happy endings. As you play Grimm, you help him transform these fairy tales into the twisted stories..which probably isn’t very far from the truth. I wouldn’t recommend really reading Grimm’s original Fairy Tales but, I will tell you they are very messed up. Very twisted as well.

“A Boy Learns What Fear Is” which is the first episode of the series ; is free to play on the Game Tap service. the other episodes will be free for the first 24 hours on Game Tap. They’ll also be available for purchase in Game Tap’s store for $3.99 per episode.

Cuil or Un-Cuil?

Recently, a new search engine launched that was surrounded by tons of hype. It’s a Google killer! Google has it’s competitor! So much hype, indeed. Then, the bad press showed up. Cuil (pronounced “cool”) was not the search engine it promised to be.

As I read the bad press Cuil was getting, I thought to myself “It can’t be that bad. I’m sure there’s some good qualities to this search engine.” So, I decided to forget about the bad press completely and, take a look for myself. I picked out a search that I knew would be a little tough to get good results from. I picked a vanity search. Then, I picked something a little easier to search for and, decided to compare.

Before I go into my search results, let me say I really like the color scheme of “Cuil”. It’s very modern and, reaches a younger audience. The navigation on the search page leaves something to be desired though. If it were a little cleaner, it would be great! Right now, there is no real separation of results and, the page looks a bit messy. They could take a hint from Powerset in this case for enhanced navigation.

Now, my search. First, I searched “Candace Holly” on Google and Yahoo search. I know that there is a couple of other women who share my name and, I expected them to show in the search on Google. Sure enough, they did. I felt a little more special on Yahoo search. My name showed first where on Google mine was second. Yahoo loves me, maybe?

Zoom Zoom Zune (Guest post by Josh)

Most of the time, all of us here at TGM are iPod fanatics. We don’t really give much love to any other MP3 player on the market. One thing we’re noticing in the trends with TGM original programming is more and more Zune users are beginning to pop up. So, we thought it might be time the Zune gets some love. Unfortunately, none of us are Zune users. Enter Josh. He’s a member of our community who does use a Zune. Josh has written an introduction to the Zune that you all might like to read. If you’re comparing MP3 players, don’t leave the Zune out!

The Hardware

The Zune 30 (the one I own) has a nice feel to it. It’s scratch-resistant and is encased in a “double shot” finish that gives it a unique look. This gives the player a colored hue around the edges, which I find to be ridiculously cool. The screen is big and bright and the battery life is good; overall, it’s a nice piece of technology.

The Firmware

This is one of the successes of the Zune, something Microsoft did right in exceptional fashion. Although I own a 1st generation Zune, I wasn’t left out in the cold world of obsolescence; Microsoft provided me and all other 1st-gen players with the 2.0 firmware for free.

Navigation on the device is elegant and intuitive, featuring vertical and horizontal menu movement, allowing you to easily find exactly what you’re looking for. The player features nice extra touches, like a customizable background, among other things. The Zune also has a built-in radio that can pull song information from any station that supports that type of broadcasting.

One of the most unique characteristics of the Zune is its ability to wirelessly send pictures, songs, and podcasts to other Zune players. Music, due to happy wonderful copy-protection regulations, is restricted to 3 plays per song. Podcasts and pictures, however, are free from this tether.

UPDATE: WOW YouTube and Disney worked fast at removing that video.  Anyway, for those that couldn’t see it.  Disney showed off the teaser trailer for Tron2 (or at the title shows TR2N), which is not slated for a theater release for 2 more years.  Also, JEFF BRIDGES MAKES HIS RETURN IN IT!  :D :D XD

It’s a cam video, but you get the idea after the first few seconds.

Notice a Change on the Forums?

We’ve had some complaints about the forum template and, issues with the forums being slow because of it. Rob and I both have tried to duplicate this issue with no luck. However, we certainly don’t want to oust a few of you just because some of us aren’t having any issues. We formed a compromise instead.

The previous forum design has been put back. We know there was no complaints over that specific design so, we figured it would be a good way to keep everyone happy. Once we get to the bottom of what was causing the issues with “TGM forums 2.0″ we’ll have that design back up. Until then, enjoy the forums lag-free!

Meet The Geek: David Silver from Festival of Blood Radio

TGM:Alright, here’s the drill. Easy question. Who are you and, what do you do?
David:I am David Silver and I am the host of Festival of Blood Radio. The show and the web site’s origin go back to 1998. You can find the show via iTunes, The Geek Media, or at www.festivalofblood.com

TGM:You have in the past shocked some members of TGM with something you said on Festival of Blood Radio. I can remember my own shock that caused me to almost drop my coffee. How do you deliver those statements with such a straight face?

David:For the record, I am pretty sure that Princess Peach really is a “skanky little whore”, unlike Ivy from DOA who is clearly a very classy chick. As many long time listeners know, my humor is very much on the dry side and I try to bring that to the show. If you really listen, every show has some comment or remark that is intended to make you ask yourself, “is he serious?” My humor has always been dry and practice has made adding it to the show easy. Even the show’s name is somewhat intended to draw feelings scandal and speculation!
