“The Grey People” Teaser Trailer Online!
“Wow…this movie looks epic. I’ve only read about it and seen the screen shots, but I don’t throw the word epic around like it’s nothing. Especially for The Movies movies. It looks like it may end up being, in many people’s opinion, the greatest movie on TMO. It’s not only 1 hour and 30 minutes or more, but look at all the extremely hard work that’s been put into the CG. I can’t wait until it’s released. It’ll probably make me forget that it’s being made with The Movies (along with other things, of course.)
luck with it.” -OnlyRevolutions
“Oh wow!! This is gonna be a brilliant film and then to make it better I’m gonna be able to watch it on DVD over and over again. This is a brilliant idea Moonlight!!” -burkey1993
“Wow, Moonlight this really is taking the movies to the next level. I can’t wait! Good Luck” -sbhedges
“Nice screenies, looking forward to this. Loved the other posted screeneis as well..some well executed set design, which i am a huge fan of” -Jase180
“Wow, everything about this movie looks top class… great, great screenies! Can’t wait for more updates (and the film!)!” -sisch

I’m Too Pally Machinima
One of our community members decided that her first ever machinima was going to be a labor of love, and an homage to her two favorite Draenei; Vlada and Goliath. She took Rob’s “I’m Too Pally” and put it to machinima.
Here’s “I’m Too Pally” by Teagens.
MP Leaves Sony and Joins Adobe!
With our major goal of revolutionizing the film industry, Moonlight Pictures has taken a new step to bring itself closer to the norm of film and video editing. We have been using the platform of Sony Vegas to complete our films and shorts, and while it has been a great product to use, we wish to challenge ourselves to use a professional software more recognized by the executives across the united states. In time, we plan on having many fully functional Final Cut Pro stations here, in the Eugene, OR office. To help us get to that position, we are teaching ourselves the basic user interface of Adobe Premiere Pro, which much more reflective of Final Cut then Sony Vegas’ interface.
We, however, urge any inspiring filmmakers and or machinima filmmakers that if you are starting in film editing, start with Sony Vegas. Its smart, intuitive, and easy to use.
Thank you and have a great week!
P.S. Yes, this mean “The Pathopens Project: The Grey People” will be the first film to be edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.
“The Grey People” Visual FX
Hey everyone, I’ve posted some complete visual FX screenshots in the official forum here, on the TGM forums! Click the image below to see the full thread or see the responses from the The Movies community at the Lionhead forums here!
“The Pathopens Project: The Grey People” is a machinima collaboration between D.L. Watson and Nick Blacketer, starring TGM’s own Nathan Allen Pinard and Candace Holly. Its tentative release date is Spring 2009. Its created using Lionhead Studios “The Movies” using its “Stunts & Effects” expansion pack, with additional modifications built from over 25 poeple.
New Teaser Poster “The Pathopens Project: The Grey People”
We (Moonlight Pictures) reveal the new poster for D.L. Watson’s new original machinima “The Pathopens Project: The Grey People”, opening online and Direct-to-DVD/Blu-Ray in 2009. Adapted from a short story by Nick Blacketer, the sci-fi film is about a engineer, Nick Stratum, who works for a innovative company trying to bring new advancements to the world. But when something terribly goes wrong with there latest project, Nick finds himself two-thousand years into the future where he discovers a new race he calls “The Grey People”.

Filming begins for “THE GREY PEOPLE” again.
On Wednesday, 2008, Threshold Animation Studios‘ digital studio lot reopened, and the press where lined outside the door. Everything had be completely reconstructed with some new sets for what seems (and hope) might be some added scenes. Its amazing how fast everything seemed to have been fixed after the unfortunate event where the digital studio along with all the stored footage became lost in cyberspace - but nonetheless, as director/producer D.L. Watson states, “We will survive and so will this film”.
But we didn’t see D.L. anywhere this afternoon as filming commenced instantly on the new sci-fi adventure “The Pathopens Project: The Grey People”. Instead, it seems an undisclosed Assistant Director was shooting to what is reportedly one of the first scenes of the film. Modelers unveiled some carved stone work and placed it onto the small blue screen set. They sent the camera straight down a small hole buried down into the rock. Thereafter, they switched sets to a futuristic miniature of a city, they brought in some large wall sections and surrounded the entire miniature. They filmed a shot where the camera comes straight down from aerial view and pans down to street level. Then they brought out a small space-ship model and manipulated it to fly and land on top of one of the miniature buildings. The assistant director said that was a wrap and that was it for the day.

“The Grey People” lost forever???
It’s a sad day at Moonlight Pictures. This morning, the rendering servers had a massive breakdown - causing a failure to all of the hard drives which the raw scenes of “The Grey People” were stored.

We have lost The Movies game as well as all the modifications. So does this mean that “The Grey People” is over???
HECK NO. This will give us the opportunity to revisit what we thought to be INCREDIBLE scenes and make them better! It’s a shame that we filmed almost twenty minutes of the film and its now all gone, but we will re-film and release this film to the public.
But how long can everyone wait now until its released? Well, it took us almost two months to film the first twenty minutes. We can imagine that it will take that much to complete again plus the many months finishing the film. We are very sorry for the inconvenience to our viewers, but rest assured, you can expect to see this grand sci-fi adventure sometime in early 2009.
We had to tap into our donation fund and buy a brand new server (which cost a pretty penny) and if you would like to help contribute - for as you know - we don’t just do machinima - we also shoot live action films and are currently working on not one, but TWO feature films. So if you got some spare change - anything helps - then please go here and you will be announced on our upcoming new podcast.
We’ll, thats all for now! We will keep you all updated.
“The Grey People” Teaser Trailer 2
I was going to wait until I got my website back up and running (after a recent hack), but I thought, what the heck! Here is the second teaser trailer to my upcoming machinima starring Nathan Allen Pinard and Candace Holly.
This teaser trailer is mainly to bring to life some of my favorite screenshots - it doesn’t show much of the actual story - just a visual treat for everyone. You can leave me a comment at my thread here!
“The Grey People” Teaser Poster & Synopsis
I thought I share the official teaser poster for my upcoming machinima short, “The Pathopens Project: The Grey People”.
Sometime in the near future, an organization known as “Pathopens” promises to bring peace to the world. But when something goes terribly wrong, Nick Stratum, an engineer for the prestigious company, locks himself into a cryo chamber to protect himself from the ensuing chaos. Two thousand years later, Nick awakens to find that the world has turned into a barren lifeless wasteland and he begins a journey to find any survivors. This leads him to a race of humans and the introduction of a young girl whom have grey skin and speak in a strange and eerie dialect. But the more Nick learns about this new race, the more dangerous it becomes for him as he discovers that this new evolution of humans worship a devise, if activated, could bring certain doom to the entire colony.

Cooking Meets Machinima
If you like to cook and, play video games we might have found the machinima series for you. Adreena has created the first episode in a series called “Cooking with Ethnea”. The machinima uses a character from World of Warcraft but, she is showing you how to make real recipes.
It’s a really interesting and novel idea that just might work! I know we’re interested to try out some other recipes that Adreena comes up with. We’re also enjoying watching machinima while we’re learning to cook.
