As is being reported on a number of tech and gaming websites, Jeff Gerstmann and a number of former employees of GameSpot have teamed up to launch GiantBomb, a video-game website that features both editorial contest and user-edited database of gaming information.

Gerstmann says that his team of 3 writers and a video guy will be like a video game “strike team”, covering the most important issues in gaming.

Source: TechCrunchGerstmann’s experienced team will be facing long odds - the gaming space is very crowded, and is dominated by a number of well established players like Kotaku, IGN, and GameSpot. That said, GiantBomb may well turn into a place for gamers “in the know”, who respect the team’s experience and are ready for a change.
