Warhammer Online Changes. EA Screws Up..Again.

The jist of the story is quite easy. Mythic Entertainment (Oh yes, they are EA) has made some massive changes to Warhammer Online. Four of the six major cities are out and, some of the classes removed as well. All this for a fast release apparently. To that I say “GG”.

I now present to you Leto’s opinion on the matter. Some stronger language has been edited for “front page friendly” posting.

“Well, congratulations EA, you messed up again.

Yeah I said it, I’ll say it again too, EA messed up again with this. Now before you start screaming “Wait Leto! The guy from Mythic said no EA stuffs in hur!” And I smack you repeatedly with a sledgehammer, keep in mind who this is we’re talking about. This is EA, the Empire(Star Wars reference) of gaming companies. We hear that they’re pulling much of their resources out of computer gaming and subsequently hear Mythic is substituting a firm game deadline over quality and completeness, I say EA messed up again. Not only are they removing two of the classes I was very interested in playing (Choppa, Black Guard), but they’re removing most of the home cities, thereby losing much of the identity that the non human/chaos races are going to have.

Okay, so I’m pissed, this is nothing new for most of you. EA has a history of doing this, they strangled the life out of not only one of the great original space MMO’s (Earth and Beyond) but they ripped Westwood to pieces. EA has reportedly said that they’re getting out of the computer market because they’re not making enough money in it, and because of piracy. Well, when you overprice your games, which are just cop-outs of their former selves, then you’re going to have piracy because people aren’t going to pay prices, and the not making enough money is just a quality issue in it’s entirety. They don’t make very good PC games. I’m glad they’re getting out of the PC market, good riddance! Stay out of our games EA!”
