BlizzCon 2008: Starcraft 2 trilogy could span three years
Section: News , PCs , Mac , Windows , Genres , Strategy As if it wasn’t bad enough that Starcraft fans learned the single-player campaign would be broken up into a trilogy , Blizzard Vice President of game design, Rob Pardo, had to make things worse. In an interview with Joystiq , Mr. Pardo was asked how long of a gap there would be between releases, to which he responded: “So, you know with any luck, it would be like a year for each successive one, but that’s going to be a target date, that’s not a promise.” With Starcraft II currently set for release sometime in 2009, a successive release would mean the campaign wouldn’t finish until 2011. That’s one long campaign. There was also talk of pricing however nothing concrete was mentioned. But Mr. Pardo assures us that the following two campaigns would be treated as large expansions, not stand-alone products, and would be priced as such So how about it Starcraft fans? Has this left a bad taste in your mouth or you taking every precaution to insure you live until 2011? The Ending of an Era for Bloghammer
Simply put, I’m not playing WAR. My subscription ends in eight days and I won’t be adding more time.
I also liked to think of myself as an MMO player, but I’ve finally realized that I’m not and MMO player – I’m a WoW player. I’ve played WoW for almost 4 years now, and not s single MMO has taken me away for more then 3 weeks. There is just something about WoW that can’t seem to allow me leave. I can, honestly, no longer (after AoC, WAR, etc. disappointed me) see myself playing any other game than WoW, and I picture myself playing WoW until Blizzard takes the servers down (or discontinues the creation of new content). I originally planned to write a huge post about all of this, but I decided to keep it short because of what I’m about to say next.
Yes, I am done with Bloghammer (but I still do Blogcraft). However, this does not mean that I want Bloghammer to die out. Now, I am looking for a couple of people out there to take over for me. If you would like to write for Bloghammer, you’re going to e-mail me at worldofblogcraft@gmail.com with your name, why you want to write for Bloghammer, your “WAR credentials”, and a short 100-300 word example blog post. You may also add any other information that you feel I should know.
Now, don’t be surprised if you see me periodically post some new things on Bloghammer. I still be checkin’ around the WAR blogosphere every so often.

Meet The Geek: Mifio from The MMO Show
Part of the on-going “Meet the Geek” series, introducing you to our Affiliates here at TGM. Today, we’re introducing you to Mifio from The MMO Show
TGM: Easy part first. What’s your name and what geeky thing do you do?
Mifio:My alias’ are Mifio and Mufutu. But my real name is Matthew Iannone, and I do quite a few geeky things. I co host a podcast named The MMO Show, the other host is named Metaldragon. I play an MMO known as World of Warcraft, and I’m a huge fan of the lore, and spend a lot of my time reading about it or listening to The Ancient of Lore, or The Lorekeepers.
TGM:You’re one of our younger Affiliates. Do you mind telling us how old you are?
Mifio:I am 15. And now my question is how is it impressive when there are the uber smart kids who get into college at age 12?
TGM: Those kids are impressive too but, it’s pretty impressive that someone as young as you are is getting so involved in new media when you could be doing a whole slew of other things. We think it’s pretty cool.
TGM:Most people at your age aren’t into stuff like podcasting or a lot of the new style of media. What got you into this?
Mifio:Candace Holly, formerly known as Menuet, actually brought me into new media. When I started listening to Wcradio. Candace’s show was the one I listened to the most. And when she left Wcradio for TGM. I followed. And I was introduced to the wide world of podcasting. And after listening to such gems as RnD, The X (which is a discontinued show by Candace ‘Menuet’ Holly,) and Epic Dolls. I really wanted to get into podcasting. So I bought a crappy set up, grabbed a co host, and here I am!
TGM Announces Three New Affiliates
The Geek Media would like to welcome three new Affiliates to the community.
First, we would like to welcome Conquest of Heroes Fans . A website with everything related to the upcoming game from Burning Man Studios. We will also be housing the upcoming podcast Burning Man Studios Presents.
Second, we would like to welcome Off the Set a blog all about the “internet culture” by Dieoxide
Third, we would like to welcome Spinn and his podcast Audio Digest . Spinn is a Drum and Bass DJ who is bringing the elements of creating electronic music into podcast form. You can also catch Spinn “spinning” live drum and bass every Friday from 9AM – 12PM on Bass Drive
Steve In Hollywood
It appears that Steve Racer has not only been busy, HE’S IN HOLLYWOOD!
After throwing most of my possessions away in a dumpster in the parking lot of my apartment complex, I boarded a one-way flight to LAX. And then, it began. The struggle with 2 million other salmon to swim upstream and mate where I was first — no wait, that’s a different blog. Yet there are literally two million other fish out here trying to make it in film acting. So, the logical conclusion is that I am insane and I have better chances of winning the Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes. (Did you fill out your forms for this year?) However, this is good for you because how often do you get to read an articulate blog written by someone clinically insane? (Okay, fine. Besides Ann Coulter .)
